Hervey Bay Removals – Interstate Removals

Move to Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast QLD

Moving to a new home is a stressful time in anyone’s life, which is why hiring a top-notch Hervey Bay Fraser Coast removals company should be at the top of your to do list when you are moving to a new location. This is especially true when it’s an interstate removal that we are talking about, as the stakes are raised a little in those bigger moves. The average mover usually has no trouble getting you from Point A to Point B when you are moving within Hervey Bay and the surrounding area, but the further afield you go, the more chance there is of problems arising.

If you don’t believe that to be true, listen to what recently happened to a family recently making the move to Hervey Bay. They loaded up their items with what they thought to be a respected removalist, only to arrive at their destination ahead of their personal items. All told, 24 boxes of belongings went missing, setting off a wild goose chase to try and track down those valuable belongings. The search went a little further than anyone expected, though, as those 24 boxes went on a journey that is almost difficult to believe.

It’s not as though the boxes in question were simply delivered to the wrong address in Hervey Bay, as they never really got anywhere near their intended destination. Three months after initially being picked up, the missing boxes were located in an empty paddock about 35 KM outside of Adelaide, well off the mark of their intended destination. To make matters even worse, the boxes were out in the open and subject to the elements, with some of them even receiving water damage. All might well have been lost were it not for a good Samaritan in Hervey Bay.

Hervey Bay Storage

A removalist based in Hervey Bay took it upon himself to help the family track down their missing boxes, but he did a whole lot more than simply finding the paddock where they ended up. He could have simply relayed that information and left the rest up to the family, but he instead chose to drive down and pick up the missing boxes before making sure that they got to the correct storage destination. The best part of all was that he did not ask for any type of payment for doing this run and delivery, which was an incredibly kind gesture.

While most removalists are good enough to get your goods from A to B in a timely fashion, there are some that are simply not equipped to handle interstate removals. The more distance you add between the starting and finishing locations, the more there is that can seemingly go wrong. If you are about to make an interstate move in the near future, it is recommended that you choose a removalist with experience in that type of work. If you do that, there is little chance you will need to worry about your belongings landing in some far off field.
